Watch Services
Most of our watch servicing revolves aound complete service for mechanical wrist and pocket watches. Most modern mainstream Swiss wrist watches are items that we service. We also service and restore many vintage American pocket and wrist watches, as well as vintage Swiss manual wind, automatic, and chronograph watches. Seiko automatic wind and mechanical chronograph watches also are serviced.
A brief description of this process includes:
Check the case, bracelet/band. Remove the movement from case, check the function of escapement, the winding mechanism, and gear train wheels, the calendar mechanism (if any), & setting mechanism. Check the function of the auto winding system(if any). Completely disassemble the watch movement, ultrasonically clean all parts. Inspect all parts, make repairs as needed. Ultrasonically clean movement parts for final inspection before assembly. Assemble movement, adjust & correct wheel alignment. Inspect for proper end shake and side shake of all train wheels and arbors. Grease the winding device. Oil train, and check for proper wheel and pinion contact. Assemble & adjust escapement. Check for proper escapement function. Test movement function. Assemble the auto winding device(if any), and test. Assemble the dial & hands to the movement, and test. Clean case & bracelet (if any). Polish & refinish the case and bracelet (if any) as needed. Reinstall the completed movement in case. Renew all seals (if any). Test all functions of crown. Test water resistance(if applicable) inside Bergeon pressure chamber. Conduct final testing on Bergeon watch testing simulator. Conduct static testing with watch in various positions. Final inspection.
