Accutron Tuning Fork Watch information to share with Accutron owners…

Here is the copied text from the Bulova Service department, sent back to watch owners who had sent their Accutron tuning fork watches in for service. This letter dates back to the late 1980’s. Some watch repair shops and material supply houses had new old stock parts inventory for Accutrons that lasted into the mid to late 1990’s. Currently, there are no parts available, or produced for these watches. For these reasons, we can no longer offer service for these watches.

Dear Accutron Owner,

The first Bulova Accutron Tuning Fork Models were manufactured in 1960, and by the mid 70’s, the Accutron production was terminated. In those years, we had provided continuous service for tens of thousands of Accutrons.

Then, after the last 214 Accutron was produced, Bulova still maintained the Accutron with original Tuning Fork parts as most owners preferred.

Now, some 20 years later, the inventories of these parts have been depleted, leaving us without the necessary parts to service these timepieces.

Therefore, as parts are no longer available to repair these Accutrons, we have no recourse but to return your timepiece unrepaired.
